About Our Church

We are located in Lodi, California, a beautiful city in the San Joaquin Valley of California.

Our church is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America, known as ELCA. Find out about more about our denomination here.

We have two worship services on Sunday mornings, one at 8 AM and the other at 10:30 AM. Our Education Hour at 9:15 is Sunday School for all ages.

The Women of the church belong to an organization called WELCA-- the Women of ELCA. Their activities include several Circle Groups as well as a Quilter's Workshop.

We have both Senior High and Middle school youth groups. See our youth page for more details.

St. Paul is also home to Lodi Lutheran Preschool as well as an AA group,  tai chi classes, and several Scout troops. It is definitely a busy place! To learn more, see our calendar.

We BELIEVE GOD...

1. ...is love and the Source of all life.
2. ...is fully revealed to us in Jesus Christ- the "Word made flesh", living the meaning and mystery of God, bringing us freedom and new life. Jesus is the way into the very heart of God. He entered human history, taught the truth of God, died, was buried and raised again on the third day. He came with the intention that all people might have the fullness of life and the hope for eternal life.

3. ...works through the Holy Spirit present in every human being, a sign of our oneness. This same Spirit calls believers:
     a. Into the newness of life in Christ
     b. Into continuing renewal and discovery of new ways to live and communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ.
     c. To a higher level of love- for God and for all people- especially the neglected, poor and rejected of this world.

4. ...is revealed in the words of the Bible, the historical witness of the Christian church- especially in the creeds and the Lutheran Confessions.

WE ARE...

1. A people on the Way of love, justice, and the peace of Christ through prayer, caring for one another, and opening our hearts to the unconditional, transforming grace of God.

2. People who are open to God's movement among us and within us so that God may be revealed to others.

Our Vision

    Our Purpose is to:

"Connect with God, each other, and the world."

    Our Priorities are:

Outreach to families with children and youth
        Deepening Spirituality
        Strengthening Stewardship
        Developing Leadership

    Our Vision is Oasis:
An Oasis is a place of refreshment, respite and renewal. An oasis is a place of "home" security and of comfort. An oasis is a place of peace where all can gather to exchange ideas, points of view and stories fromindividual journeys. It is not an ending point. An oasis is a place of peace where all can gather to exchange ideas and, points of view and stories from individual journeys. It is not an ending point. An oasis is a place that people become equipped to go out into the world and carry on their work, their journey, their ministry. St. Paul is an oasis for all.
